September 15

Boat Ramp Closing

The boat ramp will be closed temporarily while repairs are undertaken by the State Office of Fishing and Boating Access.

Week of September 21

Lake Drawdown Begins

To facilitate the repair of the boat ramp, the lake has been lowered six inches. When repairs are completed, the ramp will be approximately 25-30 feet long, about 15 feet longer than the old ramp, which will give considerably more depth to the launching area, according to Terry Smith, OFBA. 

Week of September 28

Dam Closed

There is no need to let any additional water out of the lake during the remaining construction period.  When the ramp is complete, there will be plenty of water in the lake for those who have waited till mid-October to take out their boats.

October 8

Ramp Re-opening

The ramp will re-open to the public and residents may take their boats out for the season.

October 31

Exec. Board Meeting

The first of four Executive Board meetings will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31st at 10:00 AM at Janet Garon's home.

November 1

Lake Drawdown Resumes

Lake drawdown will begin again and, as approved at the August BALA meeting, the water will be lowered 30 inches to the top of the spillway. The dam will be closed on January 1, 2010.

The second Executive Board meeting will be held on Saturday,  at 10:00 AM at Janet Garon's home.

Boat Parade

The annual BALA boat parade will take place on July 3rd, with a July 4th rain date.
